These quotes came straight out of my sister’s heart while she removed her eyeliner for the third time in last 20 minutes. Well, who better than girls can understand the pain of not being able to put that perfect eye liner. It doesn’t matter what are you going to draw on your upper eyelid but what matters is the Perfection. And trust you me, you are not at fault. Sketching the perfect eye liner depends a lot on the eyeliner itself. It is quiet technical actually, the size of the brush or wand, the shape of it, the consistency, the width, the length and what not…its like whole science of Eyeliner. So I thought why not explore Maybelline and figure out what do they have to offer when it comes to Eyeliner .This is what I found out :

Let’s go through them and find out if they worthy enough of the space in your Vanity .
Lasting Drama Gel Liner
Priced at Rs.525 for 2.5 g bottle. It claims to be more intense, smudge proof, Water proof and supposed to last up to 36 hours. It comes with an exclusive eye line brush. The packaging of this eyeliner is quiet handy so you can definitely fit it into your smallest of clutch. The only thing is that you might end up misplacing the eye line brush and then you will be stuck forever!!!
The first hand experience:
Pros :
- Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner doesn’t smudge.
- I kept it for close to six hours and it stayed intact .
- The eye line brush is nicely shaped so you get a good hold of it while applying the eyeliner.
- Really really matte black and gives very kohl kind of a finish.
- It dries quickly which is so needed in an eyeliner.
- Even if you use it like twice a day, it is sure to last at least 6 months.
Cons:
- The brush is sure to get dirty super soon and then cleaning it will be a task.
- You got to be really careful of closing the lid of the small bottle else the creamy gel is going to dry up, which is not at all cool!
- They could have given small holder to place the bottle and eyeliner brush together but … 🙁
The colossal Liner
This one is priced at Rs 425 for 1.2 g. It is shaped like a sketch pen, so it is very compact and handy. The tip of the Eye liner is very thin which is good because then it gives you the liberty to draw close to your eyelash line.
The first hand experience:
Pros:
- It is Really Dark and has slight shine which gives a freshly applied look.
- The nib of the eyeliner is really soft and flexible allowing you to draw as per your wish.
- It is handy,one can easily carry it along .
Cons:
- It Got smudged even after giving it 15 -20 minutes to dry up.
- The stick is quiet wide so it didn’t fit too well onto my fingers so I kind of had a tough time while applying.
- Slightly expensive for the quantity.
- It is not sweat proof so you will surely see it all over your eye lid after half an hour.
- Won’t last too long. Do not expect more than 100 application.
Hyper glossy Liquid Liner
It is priced at Rs 300 for 3 g. As the name suggests, it is for those who love hyper glossy eyeliner. It is a liquid eye liner and claims to be water proof, smudge proof with glossy and intense finish. Strangely the entire look and feel of the bottle reminds me of my first eyeliner from Lakme.
The first hand experience:
Pros:
- It is super glossy, so apt for nights when you want to party.
- The wand is extremely slim so you can draw the thinnest line ever.
- It doesn’t smudge at all, even if you rub it.
- Decently priced for the quantity.
- Will last you good number days.
Cons:
- The packaging needs to be redone.The bottle looks so fragile that I got confused whether to keep it vertically or horizontally.
- It doesn’t really keeps up to the name. This thing is definitely glossy but not hyper glossy for sure. There are glossier eyeliners available in the market .

Well, out of the three eyeliners by Maybelline, The one which wins the heart is Lasting Drama Gel liner. It is one product that definitely deserves the space in your Vanity. And as we always say nothing is perfect but this liner is definitely close to perfection and therefore definitely calls for 4 out 5 !!!
Common’Sass ki baat: Eyemakeup should be the first thing that has to be done while doing makeup except Mascara. Yes, mascara is the last thing that you do and it is to be applied at the end of the makeup session.
